The Links at Four Winds Field
We had an incredible week for our fifth annual Links at Four Winds Field, turning our local minor league baseball stadium into a fun golf venue! Local golfers and our sponsors came together with our First Tee volunteers and families for a super-fun week at the ballpark like none other. With music playing and pictures from our programs showing on the scoreboard, the energy throughout each day was contagious, and every swing, auction bid, and donation helped support and celebrate First Tee activities in Michiana.
Participants traveled around the stadium to 9 different ‘stages’ and hit golf balls down onto the diamond where holes were cut and greens, bunkers, and water hazards were painted onto the ground. The course finished by hitting golf balls from behind home plate all the way across to the end of the outfield–a 127 yard shot. Then, participants traveled through the dugout into the locker room where they could see various auction items and purchase drawing tickets for autographed sports memorabilia as further fundraisers for us.
Because of the generosity of so many supporters, we can continue providing affordable programs that use golf to teach confidence, respect, perseverance, and other life skills that last far beyond the course. We’re grateful to everyone who made this year’s event such a success and look forward to building on that momentum as we continue to make a positive impact on the lives of kids and families throughout Michiana.
