Jenny Zimmerman, Michiana Area Site Director
Meet Jenny Zimmerman, our awesome Michiana Area Site Director! Coach Jenny joined the First Tee team back in 2017 and has been the driving force behind major program growth in the Michiana area with hundreds of kids and teens participating in her classes and leagues. Education? Bachelor of Science from University of Michigan, Juris Doctorate from University of Notre Dame
Golf experience? I grew up in a family of golfers, and still play golf with my dad and brother every summer weekend. I played in local, state, and national tournaments as a teen, played varsity golf for the Mishawaka High School Boys Golf Team (before we had a girls team) and the Michigan Women’s Golf Team.
Favorite Course in Indiana? There are so many great courses in Indiana, but I have wonderful memories of the old Purdue South course, where I made many lifelong friendships at the Girls State Junior tournament (and had my first hole-in-one!)
Favorite First Tee game or drill? We play Knockout at the end of every class and practice. It is the kids’ favorite game–and I love being able to jump in and play with them. Any golfer–of any age or ability–can get hot with their putter and win, which brings lots of smiles every time!
What do you like most about being a coach? Golf has done so much for me–opened doors, allowed me to meet some fabulous people, make lifelong friends, and given me priceless time with my family. I love being able to introduce the game to our kids–and I can only hope the game gives them the same things.
