Help us Be Game Changers

Starting in 2017,  First Tee – Indiana in Greater Lafayette has been teaching youth character education through the game of golf. With the help of our donors we impact over 5,000 Northwest Indiana youth on a yearly basis. Our programs include sessions at Purdue’s Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, School Programs at Lafayette School Corporation, Tippecanoe School Corporation and West Lafayette School Corporation in elementary physical education classrooms. As a nonprofit, we rely on the help of volunteers and donors to keep costs minimal, provide scholarships, and purchase equipment so we can expand our reach across the community.  If you are interested in learning more, contact Luci Ross at [email protected].

Scenes from the Season

First Tee League Days

With the help from a grant from the PGA TOUR Superstore, we hosted our first Wednesday evening playing league for Par and Birdie level First Tee participants. The eight-week league gave the kids the chance to be on the golf course with their peers just having fun playing the game. Groups played 3 – 9 holes weekly and Coach Dan Ross saw a huge improvement in how the players moved around the golf course. “Just being out on the course and playing with friends sometimes is the best way to get better. I saw the kids’ confidence in their games growing each week.” The league wrapped up with a trip to Monster Mini golf and we couldn’t pass up frozen yogurt at the Pink Walrus afterwards.
