Formed in 2017, First Tee – Indiana in Greater Lafayette became the 17th First Tee-Indiana program location. PGA professionals Dan Ross and Joel Baumgardner launched the inaugural First Tee class sessions with the help of many community volunteers. Today, classes continue to grow with Coach Ross at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, along with PGA Professional Jim Ousley, Peyton Snoeberger, Assistant Professional and former Purdue golf team member. Coach Baumgartner has been actively hosting classes at Coyote Crossing Golf Club.

In 2017, First Tee School Program was introduced to the Lafayette School Corporation elementaries. There, students in Kindergarten through 5th grade learned First Tee’s five Key Commitments and beginning golf skills in the physical education classes. The success of these class led to donations from the Lafayette Community Foundation as well as private donations for curriculum and equipment for West Lafayette School Corporation and Tippecanoe School Corporation. Greater Lafayette hosted its annual School Skills Challenge in 2025 at Battle Ground Golf Club. East Lawn Elementary in Monticello was added to the school program roster in 2024. Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex

Coaches Dan Ross, PGA, Director of Instruction and Jim Ousley, PGA, and Peyton Snoeberger will bring you several offerings throughout 2026. Winter indoory sessions will being on January 31st. Spring classes will begin in April. Two summer sessions will run in July with more on-course opportunities. We will wrap up the season with our fall series of special sessions, including a parent-child scramble event.
